Report on the Aktion project No. 50p7: COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF EMISSIONS ABATEMENT TECHNOLOGY Antragsteller (Name, Titel, Funktion):doc. Ing. Lucie Obalová, Ph.D. Universität o. sonst. Institution: VŠB-TU Ostrava Institut: Fakulta metalurgie a materiálového inženýrství Adresse:17. listopadu 15, 708 33 Ostrava-Poruba, Česká republika Projektpartner (Name, Titel, Funktion): Ao.Univ.Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Franz Winter Universität o. sonst. Institution: TU Wien Institut: Inst. f. Verfahrenstechnik, Umwelttechnik und Techn. Biowissenschaften Adresse: Getreidemarkt 9/159, A-1060 Wien Mutual visits: Lucie Obalová, Kamila Kočí: 8. – 10. 4. 2008 visit in Vienna Šárka Michaláková: 14.9. - 10. 10. 2008 visit in Vienna Benedikt Nowak: 17.11. - 16.12. 2008 visit in Ostrava The project was realized according to the original plan, accepted by AKTION foundation. The aim of measurements and catalysts for diploma and Ph.D. thesis was specified at the first visit of Czech partners (L. Obalová, K. Kočí) from 8th April till 10th April 2008 at TU Vienna. The exact date of exchange stays (Š. Michaláková, B. Nowak) was arranged, too. Due to great busyness of Prof. Winter, his visit at TU Ostrava was not possible to realize. Unutilized financial money (4 340 Kč) was used for purchase of temperature regulator for experimental apparatus for N2O decomposition. This experimental apparatus is used for project solution. Šárka Michaláková provided experimental work in TU Vienna from 14th September till 10th October 2008 and dealt with catalytic decomposition of N2O in fluidized-bed reactor. Benedikt Nowak provided experimental work in TU Ostrava from 17th November till 16th December 2008 and dealt with catalytic decomposition of N2O in fixed-bed reactor. Calcined Co-Mn-Al hydrotalcite was used as catalyst in both experiments. These results will be presented as a poster “Is it possible to use calcined hydrotalcite as catalyst in fluidized bed reactor?” at the 36th International Conference of Slovak Society of Chemical Engineering in Tatranské Matliare, Slovakia (May 25 - 29 2009). The effects of this project will have significant influence on the quality of research at the Technical University in Ostrava and Technical University in Vienna and are considered by both sides to be just a beginning of long-term cooperation. For future research is planned to repeat this project. On behalf of all collaborators, I would like to thank AKTION for the financial support of our collaborative project. doc. Ing.
